    This team has been together for 6-years. K-9 Ace is a 6-year-old Belgian Malinois. K-9 Ace is a high drive Malinois. The team is responsible for $20-million worth of seizures. He is the youngest K-9 to go through FHP’s K-9 school. He lost his tail due to injury. In 2022, This team won another competition, claiming the title of top overall dog and obstacle course winner!

    Deputy Behringer is born and raised in Melbourne, Florida. K9 Gator is from Czechoslovakia. This team has been together for 3.5 years. Gator loves to track and find bad guys. He loves to play fetch, belly rubs and his daily pup cup. Gator has numerous apprehensions and drug and weapons seizures.

    This team has been together for 2-years. Pipo is a 7-year-old German Shepher/Malinois mix. They are from Jackson, Georgia. Pipo recently tracked down a suspect with felony warrants and drug charges. He is a regular at K-9 demos to show off the great skills of police K-9 work. His favorite toy is his Kong!

    This team has been together for 4 years. Zeppelin loves to go to work and gets excited to put his vest on and get into the car. He loves toys, crunchy water bottles and rolling in the grass. Over his career so far, Zeppelin has located multiple items on tracks, many drug seizures, and has many physical and non physical apprehensions. K-9 Zeppelin located 5 different people on a track of suspects that fled from deputies into a wooded area. Four of the suspects surrendered, one did not. K-9 Zeppelin won the hardest hitting LEO dog competition in 2022.

    MWD Ggriffin is a 3-year-old Belgian Malinois. He and his human have been together for one year. Hardy is dedicating his run to his niece Aleyah. She passed away in a car accident last year on November 11th, and this event marks the 1st anniversary of her death. MWD Handler Hardy, and Ggriffin are running this o-course to honor her memory. Ggriffin also turns 4-years-old on November 11th.

Deputy Hardy is a veteran and former sergeant in the United States Marine Corps. “Richie is a highly driven dog who enjoys both detection work and patrol related work.” - Deputy Hardy

    Officer Heuser is originally from Pittsburgh, PA, and has been in Florida for more than 20 years. He has worked for the Leesburg PD for 5 years. K9 Nick was the first dog in the unit to be born in the U.S. however both of his parents were not. K9 Nick’s father was a Lake County Sheriff K9 and had a very successful career. K9 Nick’s mother was utilized in several litters that developed law enforcement working dogs as well as personal protection dogs. Officer Heuser and K9 Nick have been together for 1 year. During a shift earlier this year K9 Nick was sent to apprehend a fleeing suspect and did so very well, which led to the apprehension of the fleeing felon. Duirng the apprehension, K9 Nick was being struck in the face by the offender and at some point his top left canine chipped off, into the suspects arm. K9 Nick now has a titanium tooth in that place and was back to full service just weeks later. “K9 Nick was already a certified K9 with another handler for a year before I took over as his handler. I served as the unit decoy during those years and I was K9 Nicks primary utilized decoy, which made our relationship transition very awkward at first. “ -Joseph Heuser

    MWD Kkody is a 3-year-old Belgian Malinois assigned to the 45th Security Forces Squadron at Patrick Space Force Base. Kkody has been with his human for 8 months. They have supported missions for the vice president and former President Trump. His favorite part of the job is biting the decoy, which means he loves taking down any “bad guy” intent on harm. When Kkody is not working, he likes long walks on the beach and chasing anything that moves. He especially loves nibbling on human ears!

    Deputy Hubinger and K-9 Lars are part of the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office. “Lars loves to chase anything I throw, destroy anything I hit, and search for anyone he gets to bite or anything that gets him a toy thrown for him to catch.” - Deputy Hubinger

    Deputy Hubinger is a veteran of the United States Navy from 2000-2006.

    This team has been together for 3 years. Mac is a 4 1/2-year-old German Shepherd. Mac is motivated by his tug toy, and sometimes with food. He loves playing two ball. Mac and his human have been working together since March 2020. He’s a full service K-9 that specializes in narcotics. Mac is extremely driven and has no fear with anything that is presented to him. He is extremely social but can flip a switch when it’s time for work. Mac has had multiple drug finds, some involving drug trafficking cases with other agencies.

    Officer Morehead is originally from Cleveland, Ohio. K-9 Gator is from the Netherlands. This team has been together since July 2021. Officer Morehead is a veteran of the United States Air Force where he served as a K-9 Handler. He remains in the Air Force in a reserve capacity. K-9 Gator is a typical puppy and has yet to find a toy he doesn’t like. “K-9 Gator sometimes gets nervous in new environments but always puts on a brave face and gets his tasks done. “ - Officer Morehead.

    This team has been together for 5 months. Hugo’s favorite activity is detection and loves being rewarded with his Kong. Despite being the newest MWD, Hugo has already supported direct support for three presidential missions. Hugo recently achieved certification in helicopter fast roping, enabling rapid deployment into challenging environments.

    K-9 Lefty is originally from Slovakia. He has been with Deputy Roth for 3 years. Lefty is very social and goofy, but he can flip the switch and be all business. “He is very motivated by any toy, food, or belly rubs. Lefty is a great tracker and quickly racked up a significant amount of criminal apprehensions during his first 3 years being active on patrol.” - Deputy Roth

    MWD Handler Southwell is originally from Lakeland, Florida. MWD Oori was bred and trained at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas. The team has been together for nearly 3 years. “Oori loves to do bitework, and beat up his water bowl. He has been deployed in support of two different presidents, and various dignitaries. Oori can be thanked for two concussions and two torn rotator cuffs by his decoys.” - Connor Southwell

    Indie is a 2 1/1-year-old German Shepherd from Hungary. The team has been together for 2 1/2 years. Indie is a giant teddy bear with a huge heart. He often forgets he weighs 87 pounds and thinks he's more of a 10 pound lap dog. He loves to play fetch with dad in the backyard, tends to sneak up in the bed when no one is looking, and really likes when mom slips him treats.

    Most of all, Indie loves to catch bad guys! Indie has numerous apprehensions, drug and weapon finds and seizures.

    Indie recently decided to have some dental work done, so if you're lucky (or maybe not) you'll get a glimpse of his shiny titanium teeth.

  • Kenrick Walters and K-9 Kovu

    Deputy Walters was born in Jamaica and moved to the U.S. in 2004. He attended the Florida Institute of Technology from 2011-2015 and received a bachelor’s degree in forensic psychology. K-9 Kovu is from Hungary. This team has been together since April, 2021. Kovu loves to work. His favorite task is tracking. His favorite toy is his Kong. He also loves bacon. K9 Kovu has 12+ non physical apprehensions in his first year of service. He’s also assisted deputies with locating various amounts of narcotics. Funding to purchase K9 Kovu was donated by the Order of the Eastern Star -Brevard County Chapter. Although K9 Kovu loves to work he also enjoys his days off. During his days off he loves to wrestle with his older brother Kain. And when he isn’t wrestling with Kain he loves to lounge around the house.
